How is the training performed?

The system models business environment relevant to a particular industry and allows to monitor management reporting in each company (managed by a single player or a team) and key financial indicators at the start of every played round. The business simulation also computes possible behaviour of these key indicators depending upon the decisions made by the players in the current and each successive round until the accumulative result is calculated. This enables the playing management team to make weighted executive decisions. Every team member can offer his own personal decision substantiated by individual analytical skills and defend it in front of the colleagues thus demonstrating his own managerial and leadership abilities.

Upon the completion of each round the participants analyse their performance, formulate relevant issues and questions which they resolve by themselves without assistance or with the facilitator’s guidance. The differences in the individual performance of each team are conditioned exclusively by the team’s collective decisions taken in the course of each simulation round corresponding to one (1) financial year.

In order to get accustomed to the virtual ambient, but more importantly to be able to work out their own company management strategy the teams play 2-3 practice rounds, and then, for the record, 5 to 12 rounds are played that equals to a spell of 5 to 12 years of managing the corporate business!

What are the participants’ actions?

Business simulations are a captivating management skills game. The participants work in teams of 2 to 5 people.

Each team manages its own individual company and all teams are put in identical start-up conditions and compete with each other in the same market. In the course of each round the players are required to take the following actions:

  • Analyse the current state of corporate functions and the influence they have on the overall performance/results
  • Analyse how various functions are linked and interrelate with each other
  • Examine market development forecasts for the current fiscal year
  • Formulate goals and objectives based on the chosen strategy
  • Make decisions on the functional variables
  • Discuss options within the team and make a joint ultimate decision
  • Analyse the achieved results/overall performance
  • Formulate relevant issues and questions and contribute to their successful resolution

What are the participants’ benefits?

  • Perception of the coherence of all corporate functions requisite to achieve best results
  • Valuable experience of analysis and engagement of the external factors necessary to achieve success
  • Financial analysis skills. Better understanding of the business language expressed in terms of reports and on-line data supported by diagrams, graphs and formatted tables/spreadsheets
  • Development of strategic and tactical goal setting skills
  • Development of weighted decision making skills
  • Assessment of own current managerial and leadership skills
  • Identification of areas for self-improvement and vectors for personal individual development
